Googling on how to become a Googler (code thief) turns up numerous programs focused on programs for programming languages other than Go. For example, working at Xeolite (tech support via chat) involves many hours on languages like Python, Ruby, PHP, Ruby, and the latest versions of Python and Ruby. What’s interesting is that so many programming languages have so many tools to support it and so many features available to programmers. The same is not true for programming languages like Go. Is Go missing out on the benefits of a larger community, a larger technology ecosystem, or some other benefit, or is Go’s purpose simply different?
Obviously, there are many valid reasons to be programming languages away, but perhaps one of the bigger benefits of this way of thinking is the opportunity to learn a broader set of programming languages that can help you understand and tackle a variety of programming problems.

Computers (and all software) are coded in one-to-one machine code. There are basically two kinds of machine code, virtual machine code and executable machine code. Virtual machine code is like simple executable code but it is compiled before it is executed. An example of virtual machine code is C. Virtual machine code is written for one platform and interpreted for all other platforms. Executable machine code is exactly like virtual machine code but it is not compiled until it is actually executed by a particular platform. Each platform has its own copy of the virtual machine code. It is designed to be executed by the platform it was designed for. Programs that were compiled for another platform will not run on the platform it was developed for.
